November 27

Our flight arrived in Brussels at 5:20 am, and the flight to Frankfurt didn't leave until 11 so had over 5 hours to wait. Many of us found a bench for a more comfortable sleep.

We took the short flight to Frankfurt and then rushed through the airport as we only had a short time. When we boarded the flight from Frankfurt to Toronto, they announced it was 8 hours and 40 minutes long. That's the longest flight we have ever been on

We landed in Toronto around 5 in the afternoon, and our next flight didn't leave until 10 that night so again we had a few hours to wait.

Finally in Toronto!

After many hours in airports, you often act a bit goofy!

We landed in Saskatoon at 12:45 am on Monday morning. It had been 32 hours since we left Africa.

What an amazing, incredible experience it has been!
I want to thank all those at home that supported us in fundraising events and supported us in prayer.
I want to thank David and Marianne for all they did to make this trip as amazing as it was.
I want to thank Andrew for his leadership and guidance.
I want to thank my fellow team members for the laughter, the bonding, the sharing and the support for each other every day.
Most of all I want to thank the Lord for leading us on this journey, for keeping us safe in all our adventures and travels, for allowing each of us to serve Him in our own capacity and for teaching us more about His kingdom and His love.

We decided to pre-check our luggage in the afternoon so spent the morning organizing our suitcases. I also did a few more haircuts. We had lunch at David and Marianne's and took our luggage to the airport at 2:30. It was a good thing we did as it took us one and a half hours to get it all done. After we got back, Deb, Terry and I went for our last swim at the ISO pool.

We gathered at David and Marianne's at 6:30 and went out for supper. We went for Chinese food at a nice little restaurant. Afterward we stopped back at the SIM compound to gather our carry-on luggage and say our goodbyes. We went to the airport and had to say our goodbyes to David and Marianne. We all made it known to them that the entire trip was made perfect because of their involvement. They arranged our accommodation, provided our food, arranged all our transportation, set up our work projects, introduced us to everyone, translated for us in three different languages, organized all of our leisure activities and advised us in all aspects of everyday Burkina life. We couldn't have asked for better hosts/tour guides and are very appreciative of everything they contributed to our trip.
