The team was formed in January 2011 and has held regular meetings to plan and prepare for the trip. They have also participated in various fundraising activities including:

Bottle drives in Eastview
Garage sale and BBQ in Montgomery Place, Saskatoon

The total amount raised through team fundraising efforts was $7,500. The money was used to pay for the team's living expenses while in Burkina Faso. The remainder of the money will be donated to individuals/organizations throughout the time spent in Africa.
The team would like to thank Dr. Jay Stevens and his staff for their donation of 100 toothbrushes.
Beyond the team fundraising, individuals also had opportunities to do their own fundraising. I want to make special mention of the fundraising efforts through my workplace, the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF). The staff at the Federation have been very supportive of the mission trip on behalf of myself and my husband and have donated a total of $1,625 through different fundraising events at our workplace. This money was used to offset the cost of flights and vaccinations.
